I want to share a few breakthroughs I’ve had over the past couple years. I think this will be helpful to someone who is looking to make a change in their career, but still has no idea “how” it is going to happen. I know I could have used this kind of advice two years ago.
Breakthrough Number 1
I completed the Millionaire Mind Intensive in 2006. After that program I did something radical. I sold my 350Z sportscar to pay for the Enlightened Warrior Training Camp. Some people thought I was nuts. My dad even asked me, “Are you sure you want to sell your car?” I was sure.
Less than a year later, Trisha and I bought our first home. We also rented our basement out for $800 per month. I eliminated my $800 monthly car payments as well as pocketing an extra $800 in passive income every month. Cool :)
But here was the real blessing. Trisha and I created more peace in our relationship because we had started to resolve some of our money issues.
Breakthrough Number 2
Shortly after completing the Millionaire Mind Intensive, I wrote a story about one of my personal growth experiences. That story was published in a popular self help magazine located in Toronto. Shortly after this I got the confidence and inspiration to start blogging. Blogging led me to my first internet business (this website).
Breakthrough Number 3
It didn’t end there. During this past summer I saw Bob Proctor live as part of his SGR program. This had a huge impact on me. A week after seeing Bob live I quit my job. It was the best thing I ever did. Although a bit stressful in the beginning I got an opportunity to start working as an engineering consultant and start earning 3x my hour rate ($105 per hour). Not only was this an amazing way to earn more money, but it also gave me the freedom to work part time and still focus on my blog.
Here is a picture of Bob and I from the live event.
All of this has brought me to where I am today. I still work part time as an engineering consultant, I coach and of course I run this blog.
What are your breakthrough stories? How is your journey to greater personal growth going?
