“I have desires. How long do I need to focus on them?”
Answer: keep focusing on them as long as you feel good.
The only thing that ever prevents you from attracting what you want is when you focus on the absence of it.
So the game becomes: how can I focus on the fullness of what I want?
Follow these 2-Steps:
1) Focus on the fullness of what you want (meditation).
2) When you begin to focus on the absence of it, focus on SOMETHING ELSE that gives you joy, makes you feel good.
Practicing this process helps you get out of your own way.
Because most of the time we focus on the absence of what we want, which prevent us from attracting it.
